140 terror hits reported in KP this year; law enforcers remain main target

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Azam Khan presided over a meeting on law and order in the province, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Thursday.
The information minister, chief secretary, IGP and senior officials attended the meeting that mulled over measures to improve the law and order situation.
The meeting was apprised of the measures taken by the police, especially the CTD. The participants were told that 140 terror hits were reported in the ongoing year and law enforcement agencies were the target in most of these strikes.
It was decided to take action against unregistered vehicles, motorcycles and vehicles with black glasses. Expressing concern over attacks on police personnel, the chief minister stressed that the CTD and the Special Branch should play a more proactive role to foil the attacks on the police
Feeling for minorities, he said special attention should be given to protect them. Law and order is the first priority and the most important responsibility of the government, he said adding that no stone will be left unturned to maintain law and order.
He was of the view that the current security situation in the province calls for extraordinary measures and a coordinated action plan. He also paid tribute to the martyrs.
