Pakistan Stock Exchange down by 264.57 points

The Pakistan Stock Exchange experienced losses on Wednesday as the KSE-100 Index lost 264.57 points and closed the session at 33.728.18.
After starting from the level of 33,992.75, the index reached 34,119.51 in the first few minutes of trading but soon witnessed a downward movement which continued till the end.In fact, the KSE-100 Index was recorded at 33,675.49 at one point.
With a total of 150,581,190 shares traded during the day, the share prices of 140 companies had made gains with another 157 experiencing losses. However, the share value of 30 did not see any change.
The latest performance after a mixed session on Tuesday when the KSE-100 Index closed at 33,992.75 after gaining 76.11 points, thus just managing to stay in the green zone.
As far as the usual main drivers are concerned, the majority of cement, fertilizer and oil and gas exploration companies saw their share prices going down.
However, the oil and gas marketing companies barring the Attock Petroleum made gains with Shell Pakistan earning Rs12.12 for each share. However, only 35,900 of its shares were traded during the session.
Meanwhile, it was a bad day for the pharmaceutical companies expect Highnoon Laboratories.
But it was the textile sector which witnessed most of the companies making some gains in their share prices.
