Seven injured in Chaman IED blast

At least seven people, including two Levies personnel, were injured in a blast near Levies Lines in Chaman on Saturday.
According to the police, unidentified miscreants targeted a vehicle carrying Levies personnel on Taj Road near the Levies Lines. The officials said the improvised explosive device (IED) was planted in a motorcycle parked on the roadside.
Heavy contingents of law enforcement agencies reached the scene and cordoned off the area. Also, officials of bomb disposable squad rushed the spot and started gathering evidence.
The impact of the blast broke windows of nearby shops and vehicles, police officials said. Strongly condemning the explosion, Balochistan government’s spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani said that miscreant targeted a vehicle of Tehsildar and Risaldar of Levies in Chaman.
In a tweet, he said that two officers and seven civilians were injured in the incident. The spokesperson said that terrorist cannot sabotage the peaceful atmosphere of Balochistan through such cowardly acts.
