Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council (KBC) has demanded the resignation of Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandial, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
KPBC vice chairman said that they have reservations about the manner of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
In a statement, the bar council also requested the federal government to file a reference against Supreme Court Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial.
After Justice Athar Minallah’s note, it became clear that the decision of the election case was passed by a majority of 4-3.
“Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandial used false statements to satisfy his ego.” Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council further stated the Chief Justice of Pakistan also violated the judicial code of conduct and his oath.
The bar alleged that despite the reference against Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi, he was included in his bench by the chief justice. The Chief Justice made violation of the judicial code of conduct while ignoring the senior judges for the bench, KBC noted.
The Chief Justice also failed to fulfill his responsibilities as the Chairman of the Judicial Council, the KBC adds.
