Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)’s symbolic hunger-strike camp demanding the early release of PTI founder Imran Khan has been closed on 13th day owing to the lack of interest of party MNAs, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to media, PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub said that PTI leadership has decided to end the camp as MNAs were going to their constituencies to mark Independence Day celebrations. He said the new date of the hunger-strike camp will be announced later.

According to an inside information, PTI leadership ended the camp due to number of controversies. Despite the daily attendance, the interest of MNAs in the camp could not be increased and the camp’s deserted look was becoming a joke.

Only Senator Falknaz Chitrali and MNA Shandana Gulzar and Shahid Khattak ensured their daily presence while PTI chairman Barrister Gohar, General Secretary Omar Ayub Khan, MNA Amir Dogar, MNA Zartaj Gul and MNA Asad Qaiser managed to attend the camp just two days a week. While 80 percent of PTI MNAs did not take the sit-in seriously and did not attend it.

On the first day of the camp, PTI engaged 20 MNAs and Senators in the duty camp. Gradually the presence of MNAs started reducing and finally only five PTI MNAs were able to attend the camp. Resultantly PTI leadership decided to shut this hunger strike camp which was set up outside the parliament.
