FIA nabs 'human smugglers' from Lahore

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Lahore has arrested two Proclaimed Offenders (POs) under its campaign against human traffickers, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Saturday.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the Lahore Circle of Anti-Human Trafficking Cell of FIA arrested two accused identified as Rana Majid and Rana Jaber. They were running a network that used to extort millions of rupees from innocent citizens in the name of Canadian visas. They sent a citizen illegally to Italy instead of Canada.
The victim was illegally detained in Italy. The accused charged Rs 3 million to send the citizen to Canada. The FIA team arrested them from Mall Road Lahore. The FIA has obtained four-day physical remand of the accused from a local court for further probe. Further investigation is underway.
