Hawala-hundi smugglers nabbed with €110,000 in Gujrat operation

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Composite Circle Gujranwala, in a significant operation against foreign currency smuggling, arrested two individuals and recovered €110,000 near Chenab Bridge in Gujrat.
According to a report by 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday, the recovered amount translates to approximately Rs. 3.2 crore in Pakistani currency.
The accused, identified as Imran Habib and Mohammad Abbas, were operating an illegal foreign currency exchange and were actively smuggling foreign currency through the hawala and hundi system.
During preliminary interrogation, the suspects confessed to transferring foreign currency to Gujranwala, Sheikhupura, Lahore, and other locations via vehicles.
Acting on credible intelligence, FIA Composite Circle initiated the operation and is currently conducting raids to apprehend other individuals linked to the smuggling network.
Investigations are ongoing to dismantle the illegal operations completely.
