In a resolute stance against those endangering public health, the Supreme Court has rejected the bail applications of three accused individuals involved in the heinous act of selling chemical-laced milk, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday. The court left no room for leniency and emphasized the need for swift justice in such cases.

The accused, identified as Muhammad Iqbal, Muhammad Arif, and Muhammad Abrar, had been charged with selling milk contaminated with harmful chemicals. The case was registered at Khadian police station in Kasur, based on a complaint filed by the safety officer of the Punjab Food Authority.

During a thorough raid conducted by the Food Authority, a shocking 1300 litres of chemically adulterated milk were discovered and subsequently destroyed. This grave discovery highlighted the serious threat posed to public health by unscrupulous elements tampering with essential food supplies.

The trial court and the High Court had previously rejected the bail applications of the accused, paving the way for the case to reach the Supreme Court. A two-member bench, presided by Justice Yahya Afridi, heard the case with utmost diligence and discernment.

In their decision, the Supreme Court sent a strong message that those who play with human lives will not be exempt from facing the full force of the law. The court directed the special prosecutor of Punjab to ensure that the trial of the accused is completed within two months, underlining the urgency of delivering justice in such cases.
