Pakistan condemns killing of Hamas chief as 'reckless act'

Pakistan said Wednesday the killing of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in neighbouring Iran was a "reckless act", describing his assassination in an air strike blamed on Israel as "terrorism".

"Pakistan views with serious concern the growing Israeli adventurism in the region. Its latest acts constitute a dangerous escalation in an already volatile region and undermine efforts for peace," Islamabad's foreign ministry said in a statement released in Islamabad.

The Foreign Office condemned the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, expressing serious concern over the growing Israeli adventurism in the region. “We are deeply shocked by the timing of this reckless act, coinciding with the inauguration of the President of Iran, an event attended by several foreign dignitaries, including the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan,” according to the Foreign Office press release.

Extending condolences to his family and the people of Palestine, the Foreign Office spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations including extrajudicial and extraterritorial killings irrespective of the motives.

Haniyeh martyrdom to create thousands of freedom fighters, says Hafiz Naeem

Amir Jamat-e-Islami Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh will create thousands of Mujahideen.

Addressing Islamabad sit-in on Wednesday, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said after Maghrib, Ismail Haniyeh's funeral prayers in absentia will be offered.

America is supporting Israel's anti-humanity, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said.

He said America is supporting Israel's terrorism.

‘A symbol of courage and bravery’

Naib Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Liaquat Baloch says, Ismail Haniyeh was a metaphor of courage and bravery, there was never any fear on his face, and he remained calm and strong even after the martyrdom of his family.

He said said, Ismail Haniyeh led the movement with bravery and perseverance, his martyrdom is a great loss for the freedom movement.

Sirajul Haq condemns assassination

Former Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq described the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh as sad and condemned the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh in the Israeli attack.

He said said Ismail Haniyeh had a calm nature, always controlled his emotions, there was never a troubled expression on his face.

He said Palestinian mothers give their children the spirit of martyrdom along with milk.

Ismail Haniyeh's services in the struggle against Israel are unforgettable and the Muslim Ummah must unite for the Palestinian people, Sirajul Haq said.
