40 passing marks will be enforced from next year

Punjab Education department on Wednesday clarified that implementation of increase in passing marks policy will start from next year 2026, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The education department also issued necessary directives to all educational boards of the province.
The relevant officials failed to obtain permission from the Punjab cabinet for enhancement of passing marks during current year.
Higher Education Commission (HEC) already finalized a summary for approval. Apart from increase in numbers of passing marks a new grading formula will also be introduced.
HEC also considering to amend examination procedure while working in this regard also underway.
