As the saying goes ‘justice delayed is justice denied’, so happened in a 26-year-old case in Lahore when a civil judge gave his ruling but the petitioner was not there to hear the good news because he had expired a long time ago, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The judge announced the decision in the over two-hand-a-half-decade-old case and won praises from his seniors.

The petitioner’s children were present in the courtroom to hear the good news but there father was not that lucky.

According to details, Shafiq filed a suit for transfer of plot documents in 1998 but due to legal hurdles he was miserably failed to get justice on time.

He pursued his case for 26 years and later died after waiting for final verdict. Now his children got justice from court.

Now Civil Judge Abid Mehar announced the decision of the case titled Shafiq versus Mohammad Aziz. He also forwarded a copy of the verdict to Information Officer Tajamul Shah.

It is necessary to mention here that Sessions Judge Naseem Ahmed Virk had already issued directives to announce verdicts of old cases.

The Sessions Judge also awarded an appreciation certificate to the civil judge for the disposal of the case.
