Pakistan’s allrounder Salman Ali Agha has expressed confidence in the team’s preparations and ability to overcome South Africa in the upcoming second Test to be played in Cape Town on Friday.

Commenting on the narrow defeat in the first Test, Agha conveyed optimism about Pakistan’s chances of turning the tables.

Speaking to the media, Agha shared insights about the Cape Town pitch, describing it as distinct from the Centurion surface. “The pitch here has less grass, and statistics suggest it may favour spinners,” he observed.

However, the playing XI for the crucial encounter has yet to be finalized, with a decision expected on match day, he added.

Ensuring fans of the team’s readiness, Agha confirmed, “All players are fit and available for selection, and there are no fitness concerns ahead of the second Test.”

Agha also praised the team’s spirited fight in the first Test, acknowledging that missed opportunities cost them the game.

“We fought hard in Centurion, but cricket is unpredictable—one session can change everything. This time, we are focused on minimizing errors and capitalizing on chances,” he said.

With their morale boosted by a recent ODI series win over South Africa, Agha underscored the team’s determination.

“We’ve already defeated South Africa in the ODI series, and we are confident of doing so again in this Test match,” he stated.

Agha lauded Mohammad Abbas for his exceptional performance in the second innings of the first Test. “After a three-year hiatus, Abbas delivered extraordinary bowling, adapting to the situation and keeping us competitive,” he remarked.

Agha also hinted at contributing with his own bowling in the second Test.

Recognizing the strength of South Africa’s lineup, Agha credited their qualification for the World Test Championship final as proof of their capabilities.

“South Africa has a strong batting and bowling attack, and their performance speaks for itself,” he noted.

Looking ahead, Agha predicted another thrilling contest. “The first Test was an exciting display of cricket from both teams. We firmly believe we can win this match and level the series,” he concluded.
