Crackdown against unregistered Afghans to commence on Nov 2: Sarfraz Bugti

Caretaker Minister for Interior Affairs Minister Sarfraz Bugti has declared that the deadline for illegal Afghans in the country expires on November 1 (tomorrow), reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.  

Simultaneously, Bugti designated November 1 as an opportunity for voluntary returnees, expressing appreciation for those families choosing to return to their home countries voluntarily.

Minister Bugti revealed that a major operation targeting these illegal foreign residents is set to commence on November 2.  This operation will unfold over an extended period and be implemented in phases.

The minister noted that Pakistan is the largest country in the world hosting such a substantial number of refugees for an extended period. He specifically addressed the Afghan refugees, stating that they are not currently included in the country's Plan A.

Bugti underscored that individuals lacking legal documentation will face expulsion from Pakistan.

Starting from November 2, these individuals will be transported to designated holding centers. During their stay in these facilities, they will receive sustenance, accommodation, and access to medical facilities for a period of two to three days.

Following this initial period, the deportations will take place from a border determined by the state, with options including Chaman, Nushki, Torkham, or other border points, all chosen to ensure convenience and security.

The minister stressed that the state's decision will be made in consideration of these critical factors.
