Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari Monday engaged with senior journalists, columnists, and bureau chiefs at a local hotel, discussing the Punjab government's efforts under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz's leadership, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The event, organized by DGPR Sagheer Shahid and attended by newly appointed Information Secretary Tahir Raza Hamdani, focused on the government's performance and media relations.
Azma Bukhari emphasized that the Punjab government has been working diligently to provide relief across various sectors, stating, "The people of Punjab are benefiting from our efforts, and we are seeing progress in multiple areas."
She also criticized opposition parties for attempting to create unrest, particularly referring to the "Fitna Party's" activities.
Highlighting initiatives such as scholarships, laptops, and electric bikes for students, Bukhari expressed her wish that similar benefits be extended to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She also assured the media of timely payments, saying, "Media payments are being made on a monthly basis."
Tahir Raza Hamdani pledged support for journalists, ensuring that their issues, including those related to the journalist colony and grants, will be prioritized.
DGPR Sagheer Shahid reiterated the commitment to modernizing the department and clearing remaining media arrears soon.
