Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari said on Tuesday that the Punjab government would further tighten the security of the Chinese nationals working in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, she said that Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz was the first chief minister of the country, who was given the protocol of the head of a state during her visit to China where she stayed for eight days.

“The reception given to her in China gave PTI’s social media tigers ‘sleepless nights’,” she claimed.

The minister told newsmen that CM Maryam’s focus was on making improvements in the agriculture sector. “She wants to equip the Punjab farmers with the same technology, which farmers in other parts of the world have.”

Azma informed that a delegation of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Force would visit Lahore after a month.

“The chief minister’s mother had died due to cancer. The chemotherapy done at hospitals in China is without any pain. The same we want to introduce at Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital,” she informed.

She said that in pursuance of CM Maryam’s plan to provide the people of Lahore with modern means of transport, the first fleet of buses would reach the provincial capital from China during the ongoing month.

The minister said that China was able to control smog in five years. “The Chinese experts have expressed their satisfaction with the measures being taken by the Punjab government to overcome the problem.”

Similarly, Azma went on to say, the chief minister had invited a Chinese company to install a solar plant in the province. “Likewise, she has invited another firm to assist the Punjab government in making Lahore a smart city.”
