Supreme Court upholds ECP order for re-election in NA-75 Daska

The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Friday upheld the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) decision for holding re-election in the entire NA-75 Daska constituency, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Disposing of the PTI candidate's application, the apex court ordered the ECP to hold the repolling in Daska by-election on April 10.
Justice Ata Bandial announced the short order.
Talking to newsmen outside the Supreme Court building, PTI candidate from NA-75 Daska Ali Amjad Malhi said they would think about filing a review petition in this regard after getting the court decision
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court reserved the verdict, saying the decision will be announced in a few minutes.
On March 25, the Supreme Court had ordered a halt to the polling in NA-75 Daska by-election scheduled to be held on April 10. Issuing an interim stay order, the apex court had remarked “Defer the polling day, not the whole polling process.”
The Election Commission of Pakistan had ordered re-election in NA-75 Daska on an application of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
Linking further hearing in NA-75 Daska by-election case to the availability of the bench, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) on Thursday barred the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) from going ahead with the polling in the constituency on April 10 as originally scheduled.
Justice Umar Ata Bandial, heading the bench, remarked that the date for the hearing would be fixed as soon as the bench was available.
