Swinging into his first action after becoming law minister, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain on Saturday made a move aimed at arresting Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shehbaz but it fell flat, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Newly-appointed Law Minister Fawad soon after taking charge issued directives to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for the cancellation of bails of Shehbaz Sharif, oppositon’s joint candidate for becoming next prime minister and Hamza Shehbaz, Opposition’s candidate for Punjab chief ministership.

The court had extended the interim bails of both Shehbaz and Hamza in the money laundering case until April 4.

After receiving the new directives, the FIA wasted no time and filed an application in the court of FIA special judge central in this regard.

The court issued notices after receiving application for cancellation of Shehbaz Sharif’s bail in money laundering case, summoned Shehbaz Sharif’s lawyers on April 4 for arguments.

The court, however, refused to cancel the bail or review its March 25 decision of granting the bail. The judge observed that if the FIA had any objection then the Agency can challenge the court's decision in the high court.

Earlier, the FIA special judge central reserved the ruling on the FIA’s application seeking revocation of Shehbaz’s bail.

The FIA pleaded to the court that Shehbaz Sharif was misusing his bail from this court. “The March 25 decision about bail was wrong and a danger for the country. A review of the March 24 decision is requested.”

After hearing the FIA arguments, the court reserved its ruling.
