Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday reserved the decision on the objections of the court registrar regarding the admissibility of the petition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Salman Akram Raja against the win of opponent candidate Aun Chaudhry from NA-128.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Salman Akram Raja Advocate challenged the LHC registrar's decision to declare his petition against the victory of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) candidate Aun Chaudhry as an uncognizable petition.
In the petition, Salman Akram Raja approached the LHC on the matter of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP)'s rejection of his application against the success of Aun Chaudhry.
LHC Justice Ali Baqir Najafi heard the case and reserved the decision on the objection regarding the admissibility of the application of the Registrar's Office.
Salman Akram Raja made the parties to the ECP Secretary and others in the petition.
During the hearing, Justice Ali Baqir Najafi asked the lawyer why did not go to the Election Tribunal Tribunal.
Reply to this, the petitioner advocate told the court that the office of the ECP does not come under the jurisdiction of the Election Tribunal as it has no jurisdiction to annul the decision of the Commission.
Importent to mention that the Registrar Office of the Lahore High Court had objected to the admissibility of the petition that after the election tribunal was formed, the petition is not admissible.
The registrar urged the petitioner that he should file a petition in the Election Commission instead of the LHC.
