The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to challenge the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the foreign funding case in court.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, PTI leader Asad Umar and Shah Mehmood Qureshi addressed a news conference in Islamabad on Tuesday.
Asad Umar’s mood was visibly upset during answering queries of the journalists. He challenged the ECP to publish PTI's account details on the website.
When he was asked about Arif Naqvi, he also expressed some strong anger. Anyhow, he explained that today's verdict of the ECP has proved that there wasn't any foreign funding case against the PTI.
Asad said that the ECP has fulfilled its wish by giving a verdict on the prohibited funding case so now it should tell the nation why the funding report of the Nawaz League and People's Party is not being released.
He said the Election Commission is giving shelter to the PDM parties by violating the directives of the Supreme Court and the High Court
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the PTI now wanted action against those who took funding from former Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden and Libya.
He said the commission has mentioned Imran Khan's false affidavit in the verdict as the Political Parties Act 2002 mentions a certificate and not an affidavit. He also said that the ECP has violated the verdict of the Supreme Court.
