The Punjab government has once again made changes in its local government electoral system by declaring that it will hold the lower tiers LG polls on party basis, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The provincial government has made amendment to the draft law and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar approved it on Thursday.
Earlier, the Punjab government had declared to hold mayor and Zila council level LG polls on party basis but the lower tier elections on neighbourhood and village council level on non-party basis.
But after this amendment, polls on both the upper and lower tiers would be held on party basis.
