Taking strict action against inappropriate behavior, the senior-most judge of the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday sentenced an advocate to three months imprisonment while the Punjab Bar Council (PBC) opposed the decision and called for a strike across the province on Saturday.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmad Khan, the senior-most judge of the LHC awarded a sentence to Rana Asif Advocate for three months imprisonment.

The advocate adopted inappropriate behavior when he was asked by the Judge for wearing a gown in the courtroom.

He was issued a contempt of court notice for today and the court had also ordered to take him into judicial custody but before the hearing of the contempt of court, Rana Asif advocate left the court along with other lawyers.

Rana Muhammad Asif Advocate is currently a member of the PBC.

On the other hand, the security of the courtroom of Justice Malik Shehzad Ahmad Khan has been tightened to avoid any unpleasant scene.
