CJP Qazi Faez Isa gives reply to Imran Khan’s letter

Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa has given a detailed reply in the form of a press release while responding to a letter written by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The press release states that Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa is well aware of his constitutional responsibilities, let everyone be sure that he cannot be pressured nor will he be biased. Chief Justice by the grace of Allah and according to his oath will continue to perform duties.
According to the press release issued by Chief Justice Secretary Dr Muhammad Mushtaq on Saturday, the 7-page application was received on December 1, but the name and contact details of the lawyer who prepared the document were not given. According to the envelope, the document was couriered by PTI lawyer Intizar Hussain Panjhota.
According to the statement, the document appears to have been sent by a political party, which has been well represented by lawyers. The lawyers of this party took important cases like military courts and elections to the completion. It is surprising how the document was released to the media before the chief justice could receive the sealed envelope, the press release concluded.
Jailed PTI leader Imran Khan on Thursday wrote a letter to Chief Justice Isa, requesting the top judge to protect the party’s fundamental rights.
The PTI alleged that it was being stopped from carrying out political activities in the run up to the general election and several of its leaders were incarcerated following violence in the country on May 9.
In a 7-page letter, Imran called upon the Supreme Court to safeguard his party’s “right to liberty, to associate, assemble and speak” as guaranteed under the Constitution.
