Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi Wednesday strongly condemned an attack on the car of former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice (retired) Qazi Faez Isa, in London.

The assault, allegedly led by activists of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists, occurred while Isa was en route to a ceremony at the Middle Temple.

Naqvi expressed outrage over the incident and announced stringent measures, including stripping the attackers of their Pakistani citizenship and initiating a formal case for cabinet approval.

“No one will be permitted to engage in such attacks,” stated Naqvi firmly, adding that he has directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to expedite the identification of those responsible for the assault. He has also ordered the submission of an FIR in Pakistan, with steps to block the attackers' identity cards and revoke their passports.

According to reports, PTI supporters attempted to block Isa’s car, a vehicle belonging to the Pakistan High Commission, and even tried to smash its windows. Witnesses reported that the activists ran alongside the vehicle, chanting slogans aimed at Qazi Isa.

Senior PTI figures, including Zulfi Bukhari, Malika Bukhari, and Azhar Mashwani, addressed a gathering of supporters protesting against Qazi Isa at the Middle Temple later that evening.

“We cannot remain silent on this incident,” Naqvi stated, questioning why security was not provided despite prior threats to Qazi Faez Isa.
