Former Provincial Law Minister and National Assembly candidate from NA-55 Rawalpindi, Raja Basharat, has written a letter to the Chief Election Commission, expressing his concern over the alleged police interference in his constituency, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Thursday.
He claimed that the police were illegally arresting his workers, raiding their houses, and harassing his election campaign staff.
He said that the police were targeting his supporters who held corner meetings or tried to open his office.
He alleged that the police were violating the sanctity of four walls and intimidating his workers' families.
He also criticized the Chief Minister Punjab and the IG Punjab for not ensuring a level playing field for all candidates.
He warned that if the police continued to detain his workers, they would face resistance from his party.
