Days after the arrest warrants for the three women who assaulted actress Uzma Khan and her sister were released by a local court, reports have emerged that both parties had settled the matter outside court.

Meanwhile, Uzma’s counsel Khadija Siddiqui also disassociated herself from the case.

Taking to Twitter, Uzma Khan’s lawyer, Khadija Siddiqui wrote: “This is to announce that we are disassociating from #UzmaKhan case. I understand the reasons of any settlement by two aggrieved women in a rigged system. My conscience doesn’t allow me to be part of any of that, even in a professional capacity. Struggle against lawlessness continues.”

Earlier in the day, a session court granted the three women interim bail and ordered them to furnish Rs50,000 security bonds each. The court also gave notices to the concerned SHO and sought the record of the case at the next hearing date.

On May 27, police registered a case against two daughters of business tycoon Malik Riaz, Pashmina Malik and Ambar Malik, and his sister, Amina Usman Malik, along with fifteen other men, after Uzma had accused them of forcefully barging and assaulting her in her home.

Several videos went viral on social media, showing a women entering the house of the actress and threatening her for allegedly having an extramarital affair with a man named Usman Malik, who is said to be Riaz-related. The ladies could be seen hurling abusses towards Uzma and her sister while also threatening to have them “taken by intelligence agencies.”

Uzma Khan also reached the press club of Lahore along with her lawyer Ali Ishfaq to share the details of the controversy with Usman Malik.

Speaking the press conference, Uzma Khan said: “I’m grateful to the media who came for my support. All the allegations Usman’s wife is putting against me in the video are wrong. I saw Usman’s wife for the first time that night. I had two years’ relationship with him and we were about to get married,” said Uzma Khan.

However, the property tycoon rejected all allegations in a tweet and said that he would be filing defamation cases against anyone who tries to “implicate me wrongfully for such disgraceful incidents”.

Riaz has now officially initiated a legal proceeding against them. His lawyer Azhar Siddiqui in a video message said Uzma and Hassaan were defaming Riaz for no reason.

“There is no strong case by Uzma. We have been hearing reports about millions and billions being offered by Riaz to different people. There is no truth in these reports,” he said.

Moreover, Riaz has also demanded Rs 5 billion for the damages they have caused to him and his family on social media.
