Weather office forecasts Eid day rain in Lahore

The weather office forecasted a rain spell in Lahore on Eidul Fitr day (Tuesday) as strong winds have already lowered down the mercury amid the heatwave, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Lahore weather office said that westerly waves have entered the metropolis Lahore and the city may receive its first spell of rain tonight with strong winds.  

The weather office recorded 35 degree Celsius temperature in Lahore and the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 162.

The weather office warned that the whole country, especially plain areas are under the grip of prevailing heat wave conditions and people are advised to take precautionary measures.

In Islamabad, the city will face the hot and dry weather however dust winds may continue in late evening that may turn the weather as the whole of the country is under the experiencing a heat wave.

On Monday (today). Hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very hot in plain areas. However light rain-wind/thunderstorm is expected at isolated places in northern/central Balochistan, south Punjab and upper Sindh.

In the past 24 hour, weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country, while very hot in plain areas, however 01mm rain was recorded in Skardu.

Monday's Recorded Highest Maximum Temperature (°C): Shaheed Benazirabad 49.5, Jacobabad 49, Mohenjo-Daro 48.5, Larkana, Sakrand, Padidan 48 and Rahim Yar Khan 47.6.
