The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has decided to withdraw its review petition against the judgment delivered in the Faizabad Dharna case over four years ago, stating that it did not want to pursue the case anymore.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the decision to withdraw the review petition was made by MQM, and an application to this effect is slated to be submitted to the court tomorrow, sources said.

Noted lawyer Irfan Qadir is expected to file the withdrawal application on behalf of the party.

The Supreme Court took notice of the absence of the MQM's legal representative during a hearing on September 28.

Following this, the court sought a response from MQM regarding whether it intended to withdraw the application or continue with the proceedings.

It's noteworthy that several entities, including the federal government, PML-N, PTI, and other political parties, along with the Election Commission of Pakistan had already requested the withdrawal of their respective applications in connection to the Faizabad sit-in case.
