Ethiopian envoy promotes green legacy initiative for environmental conservation

Ethiopia's Ambassador to Pakistan, Jamal Bakar Abdullah, highlighted the collaborative environmental efforts between Pakistan and Ethiopia under the Green Legacy Initiative.
According to the 24NewHD TV channel, he noted the recent success in Ethiopia, where 650 million trees were planted in just one day, and similar initiatives are now being implemented in various cities across Pakistan.
At Trail 5, Margalla Hills, the Ethiopian Embassy conducted a cleanup and environmental awareness campaign. Participants were briefed by the Wildlife Management Board at the Trail Five Media Centre, where a documentary on Ethiopia's Green Legacy Initiative was showcased.
Ambassador Jamal Bakar Abdullah emphasised that both nations must work together to address environmental challenges and cannot remain silent in the face of these threats. Participants actively engaged in the cleanup of Trail 5, underscoring their commitment to prioritising environmental conservation.
The event demonstrated a strong interest in maintaining the cleanliness of the Margalla Hills and promoting environmental awareness, marking a significant step in enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Ethiopia on ecological preservation.
