SC registrar removed; notification issued

Supreme Court Registrar Ishrat Ali has been removed from the post, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Monday.
According to a notification issued by the Establishment Division, Ishrat Ali has been removed and asked to report to it.
The grade 22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service was appointed Supreme Court registrar on September 28, 2022.
The notification followed the federal cabinet’s directivities issued after deliberations at a special meeting. The federal cabinet met with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the chair at the PMO. The cabinet deliberated upon two-point agenda. Law Minister Senator Azam Nazir Tarar and Attorney General briefed the cabinet.

The cabinet considered the issue of the circular issued by the Registrar Supreme Court against the top court order. It also demanded President Dr Arif Alvi sign the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act 2023. Earlier, Justice Qazi Faez too directed the Registrar Supreme Court to resign.
