A speeding ambulance of Edhi Foundation hit and injured a young girl on New MA Jinnah Road in Karachi on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to police, the girl has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital in a seriously injured condition.

The ambulance driver has been taken into custody by the police and the ambulance's windows were broken by the public.

A police team has reached the crime scene and the hospital where the injured girl’s condition is said to be critical. The injured girl works as a house maid.

Driver of the ambulance said in his statement that he had to be taken a pregnant woman to the hospital immediately and ambulance siren was also on and the injured girl was crossing the road while running.

The girl first was hit by another vehicle and then came in front of my ambulance, the driver said.

I got out, I put the pregnant woman in a rickshaw and sent her to the hospital, the driver further said.

He said the injured girl was also put in a rickshaw and sent her to the hospital. 

Saad Edhi's said in this regard that the girl is injured and admitted to the civil hospital is being provided with medical assistance. 

Saad Edhi said if the driver made a mistake, then whatever legal action will be taken. 

If the girl's family wants to forgive or wants to take legal action, it is up to them, Saad Edhi said.
