Islamabad’s Kashmir Highway renamed as Srinagar Highway

Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Kashmir Highway has been renamed as Srinagar Highway,24NewsHD TV channel reported.
The signboards and direction boards have also been renamed and updated from Kashmir Highway to Srinagar Highway.
The TV channel reported new signboards have been installed at Dhokri Chowk, Faiz Abar, Zero Point, Golra Mor and Expressway.
The Srinagar Highway will be formally inaugurated on August 5 during a ceremony.
It will be inaugurated in two phases. In the first phase, Murad Saeed will inaugurate while in the second phase, Home Minister Ijaz Shah will inaugurate it, the TV channel reported.
Earlier Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi announced the government had decided to rename the Kashmir Highway, which connected the Federal Capital with Kashmir and other provinces, after Srinagar. “We are looking at Srinagar. That is our destination,” he stated.
