Lahore ranked as world’s second most polluted city as smog surfaces again

Smog, which had reduced after recent rain in Lahore and other Punjab cities, has started increasing again as the air quality index (AQI) in the Punjab capital was recorded at 232 on Sunday, making it the second most polluted city in the world, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Indian capital New Delhi topped the list of the world’s most polluted cities as its AQI reached 292.
The air quality over Zacky Farms in Lahore was worst
Zacky Farms, with AQI 346, was most polluted area of Lahore followed by Fida Hussain Road with AQI 332, and DHA Phase 8 with AQI 318.
On the other hand, the weather is getting colder in the city with each passing day.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 10 degrees Celsius, which was expected to go up to 23 degrees Celsius later in the day.
Karachi third most polluted city
On the other hand, smog persists in Karachi, which, with AQI recorded at 222, was ranked as the third most polluted city in the world.
Doctors have advised people to keep themselves safe from smog by avoiding travelling unnecessarily.
