A Mochke police team has arrived in Islamabad to shift Awami Muslim League (AML) head Sheikh Rashid Ahmed to Karachi in a case that had been registered against him over using indecent language for the chairman of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
It is to be noted here that the first information report (FIR), that was lodged against Sheikh Rashid at Mochke police station, had been sealed.
According to the police sources, Sheikh Rashid will be shifted to Karachi on Friday (today).
The FIR no. 40/2023 was registered against Sheikh Rashid on the complaint of Khuda Bakhsh.
Sheikh Rashid will be arrested from Rawalpindi and taken to Karachi. It is likely that Sheikh Rashid will be taken into custody by Mochke police team within a few hours and shifted to Karachi.
The complainant in its complaint said that Sheikh Rashid’s speech sparked outrage among thousands of PPP workers.
“A large number of people came on roads and protested. I stopped my colleagues with great difficulty,” he added.
“AML chief Sheikh Rashid deliberately tried to disrupt law and order. There was a conspiracy to spread conflict, bloodshed and incitement. Legal action should be taken against Sheikh Rashid,” he demanded.
