3 new underpasses, signal-free corridors to help ease traffic mess in Pindi: CM Naqvi

Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi inaugurated the construction work on signal free corridor from Pir Wadhai Morre to Kutchery Chowk Rawalpidi besides expansion work on Asghar Mall Road, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing the media on the occasion, CM Naqvi said in order to address traffic issues in Rawalpindi, govt is constructing one single barrel under pass at Qasim Market while two double barrel underpasses will be constructed on GPO and PC Chowks.
CM said three under passes and 2 protected U turns will cost Rs8.2 billion rupees from national exchequer.
He directed the timely construction of the projects besides cleanliness of sewerage lines near the roads. He said after the construction of link roads, traffic mess issues will be resolved in the city.
Earlier, CM Naqvi was given detailed briefing on the new projects. Provincial ministers, Punjab Chief Secretary, secretaries of Planning and Development Board, Construction and Works, Local Governments, DC Rawalpindi and other concerned officials attended the meeting.
