Senator Irfan Siddiqui of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Friday called on Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam President Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman.

During the meeting, Siddiqui inquired after Fazl and briefed him about the progress on the ongoing talks between the government and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Fazl said that dialogue between political parties is an integral part of the democratic process. He said that refusal to hold talks is undemocratic behaviour. He said that even big problems can be solved through dialogue. He said that Pakistan needs stability and cooperation in every sphere of life. And political harmony in the country is vital to achieving this goal.

On this occasion, Siddiqui praised Fazl for his efforts to amicably resolve the issue of the registration of religious schools.
