ECP suspends local bodies members in Punjab and KP

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has suspended all local government members in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for making the incoming election fair and transparent.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday, the Election Commission issued the directive under Article (3) 218 of the Constitution and the Election Act 2017.
New local body representatives were recently elected in KPK, while local body elections in Punjab have not been held yet. However, the local body representatives elected under the Local Government Act 2013 in Punjab have completed their term.
