PPP CEC approves Bilawal Bhutto as candidate for premiership

The Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) met with former president Asif Ali Zardari and ex-foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in the chair on Wednesday.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, all the members attended the meeting at Bilawal House in Lahore.
The meeting mulled over the ongoing political situation and the upcoming general election.

The committee members reposed their trust in the leadership. Asif Ali Zardari presented the name of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as the party candidate for the premiership.
The CEC okayed Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as the PPP candidate for the premiership.
Following in the footsteps of his grandfather Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Bilawal Bhutto was sworn in as the foreign minister in April 2020.
At the venue, slogans of “Jiye Bhutto” were raised as the son of the first woman prime minister of a Muslim state, Benazir Bhutto, became Pakistan’s youngest foreign minister.
The Oxford University grad was first elected to the National Assembly in 2018. After the martyrdom of his mother in December 2007, he took over the PPP rein.
