Operation to rescue stranded tourists underway in Chitral

A rescue operation to take out tourists stranded in Laspur area of Chitral is underway, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The local administration, Red Crescent volunteers and local residents are taking part in the rescue operation.
Last night, due to Glacial Lake Outburst Flooding (GLOF) in the streams of Laspur, several tourists and spectators who came to watch the Shandur festival were stranded there.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Red Crescent spokesperson said that the rescuers were trying to temporarily restore the highway so that the stranded people could be rescued.

Tourist goes missing in Hunza
Separately, a tourist went missing after falling from Hussaini Bridge in Hunza.
According to Rescue 1122 officials, the rescue efforts to find the tourist were going on. The tourist belonged to Hyderabad, Sindh.
Hussiani Bridge is considered one of the most dangerous bridges of the world.
According to sources, the local administration has sealed the bridge blocking all kinds of transportation/movement on the bridge in search of the missing traveler.
Many adventurists come to Upper Hunza to cross the ferocious Hussaini Bride.
