Petition filed against Uzma Khan, Usman Malik for adultery, drug use

June 4, 2020 04:14 PM

Advocate Mehmood Khokar has filed a petition under section 22-A and 22-B of CrPC against film actress Uzma Khan and Usman Malik for adultery, using drugs and alcohol.

Usman’s wife Amna Usman had disclosed in her video which took the internet by storm that his husband and actress Uzma Khan had a physical relationship and they were also involved in drugs.

However, a probe should be launched now as all her claims seem true, the advocate said in the petition filed at the sessions court Lahore.

“Amna Usman in the video clearly accused her husband and Uzma of having an extra-marital affair and also for consuming drugs and alcohol. It is against the cultural and moral norms of Pakistani society. I being a responsible citizen want to file an FIR against them. I also want the authorities to arrest and take strict action against the culprits (Usman and Uzma),” he said.

The Uzma Khan case has been the most controversial case yet. The incident took place in the last week of May when a video of Uzma Khan getting beaten up for allegedly having an affair with Usman Malik, who is married to a relative of Malik Riaz went viral on social media.

According to Uzma Khan, she was beaten up, harassed, and threatened by Usman’s wife, Amna Usman, and Malik Riaz’s daughter.  She also claimed that the Riaz family has offered her money as well to turn down the case filed against them.

In response, Malik Riaz has now proceeded with the case against the actress for defamation. According to his lawyer, they are demanding Rs5 billion for wrongly involving, maligning, and defaming his client.

To this, Khan issued a statement that her FIR was legal. “Blatant maligning is only reflective of our society’s deep-rooted misogyny and patriarchy,” she maintained.

Moreover recently, Uzma Khan withdrew the case against family members of Malik Riaz and their armed guards whom she had accused of torturing her and her sister. Meanwhile, people on Twitter have been criticising the actress over her withdrawal of the case.
