A five-day Women Media Centre’s workshop titled “How Social media is shaping political campaigns” in the Islamabad hotel started here on Saturday.

Around 40 to 45 participants attended the workshop.

Senator Farhatullah Babar from Pakistan Peoples Party inaugurated the media workshop in Islamabad.

Other speakers included Muhammad Farooq from APA, Mr Aftab from AFP, Ms Fouzia Shaheen.

The moderators of the workshop elaborated the practical package of news making process.they told the ways how to focus on independent and individual training. In this regard Mr Farooq gave training to all participants in the form of demonstrations as to how to make OTC and PTC to know the potential of them.

The organizers told that on the third day of training all the participants would be having privilege to visit the parliament and meeting with the parliamentarians and then they will be able to make their packages of 2 to 3 minutes.

The headquarter of WMC is located in Karachi and it was established in 2005 with the aim to empower the women with the training of making the story packages.

Ms Fouzia Shaheen shared the recorded live videos of successful women who has joined various careers such as anchors , host, reporters, Media Icons, Drama writers producer, media contents experts etc. etc.

In short, today s session was very interactive, informative , learning up-to-date with regard to the right use of social media in situations like election campaigns in the country .
