Treason case filed against PML-N leader Capt Safdar

Gujranwala Police have registered a treason case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and husband of Maryam Nawaz Captain (retd) Safdar Awan for using derogatory remarks against state institutions and instigating people, reported24NewsHD TV channel Sunday, quoting its sources.
As per the FIR, Captain Safdar used derogatory remarks against state institutions at Imran Khalid Butt’s residence in Gujranwala the other day.
The PML-N is going to stage a rally in Gujranwala on October 16 in which party Vice-President Maryam Nawaz will deliver a speech.
A meeting was called for the preparedness and arrangements of the rally in Gujranwala, in which Javed Latif, Khurram Dastagir Khan, Abid Raza Kotla and local leadership of the PML-N participated. After the meeting, Captain Safdar while talking to media persons used derogatory remarks.
The sources maintained that FIR registration was initiated on the recommendation of Deputy Commissioner Suhail Ashraf while the FIA was lodged on behalf of SHO Satellite Town Police Station.
MPA Imran Khalid Butt has also been named in the case, the TV channel reported.
