In order to enhance security and bring it at par with international standards, the government has decided to install 29 state-of-the-art baggage scanning machines at the country’s large airports, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

The installation of these machines will be completed either by November or December.

Furthermore, over 30 walkthrough gates, equipped with latest technology, would also be installed at these airports for the purchase of which tenders have already been issued.

Out of these 30 gates, 20 would be installed immediately while the remaining 10 would be used as per requirement.
