Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday hinted at adopting another resolution against the Supreme Court's decision on the Punjab polls.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the PM presided over the consultation meeting of the coalition partners of the government held here at the Prime Minister's House.
PM Shehbaz Sharif said a serious joke is being made with the constitution and the law in the country.
He said the way the election case was heard in the Supreme Court is known by everyone. He said the decision of a three-member bench headed by Justice Qazi Faiz Isa was overruled by a circular and the Law Minister told all the things in the Cabinet and the National Assembly yesterday.
He said that the judges who had recused themselves from the case sat again on the bench and made the decision.
He said one resolution has already been passed and hopefully, another resolution will be passed tomorrow.
This kind of play has not been seen before in the country where the Supreme Court rejected the request of the full court.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Maryam Nawaz, Rana Sanaullah, Azam Nazir Tarar, Sherry Rehman, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar, Aslam Bhutani, Aftab Sherpao and other leaders of the coalition parties joined the meeting while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif participated in the meeting through a video link from London.
Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar briefed the meeting about the Supreme Court's decision on the Punjab polls case.
According to the sources, the political situation of the country was considered and important decisions have been taken by the coalition partners of the government.
