Following Pakistan’s dismal performance in the recently concluded ODI series against New Zealand, team captain Mohammad Rizwan has called for a fresh start, urging both fans and players to shift their focus toward the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10.

The appeal came after Pakistan suffered a 3-0 whitewash at the hands of the Black Caps in the final match held at Mount Maunganui on Saturday.

Speaking at the post-match media talk, Rizwan candidly acknowledged New Zealand’s dominance throughout the series.

“It’s been a disappointing series for us,” he admitted.

"Credit goes to  New Zealand – they outplayed us in all three departments.”

Rizwan also lauded his teammate Babar Azam, who showed resilience with the bat by scoring two half-centuries during the series.

Highlighting the team’s struggle to adapt to foreign conditions, Rizwan remarked, “These conditions are tough for us, but to be fair, they [New Zealand] have performed in Asian conditions as well.”

He praised the hosts’ versatility and skill, acknowledging that Pakistan fell short in every facet of the game.

However, Rizwan struck an optimistic note looking forward. “After the Champions Trophy and this series, we’ll leave the past behind,” he said. “PSL is a big tournament for us, and hopefully, we’ll give the people something to cheer about.”

PSL Season 10 is set to begin on April 11, 2025, with defending champions Islamabad United facing off against two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
