A joint operation clean-up by the police and the Punjab University administration is underway to vacate rooms from student organizations, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday. 

According to university administration, due to the operation, 28 hostels of Punjab University will remain closed until Tuesday, April 8.

Administration said that hostels will open for students with classes and exams on April 9.

In this regard, university administration issued warning to all students.

Hostels have a capacity of 8,000 students but new allottees are deprived of rooms while various hostels have been occupied by student organizations for decades, administration said.

All hostels of the university will remain closed till 7 am on April 8, 2025 and classes and exams will resume from April 9.

Hostel residents should not return to the hostel before this time and date, administration directed.

Administration warned that students who have not been allotted a hostel are strictly not allowed to enter or reside in any hostel and students should follow the instructions seriously and cooperate fully.
