Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi left for Dubai on Thursday morning to attend the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Board meeting to be held today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Sources told 24News TV channel that although the basic agenda of the Board meeting was to welcome Jay Shah as the ICC chairman, the meeting could also discuss the upcoming Champions Trophy as it was still to be decided which country would host it.
Pakistan has already conveyed to the ICC as well as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) its stance on the issue as it has presented the ‘partnership formula’ for the purpose.
Under the formula, both Indian and Pakistan cricket teams would not feature in any event to be played in each other countries.
Sources informed that the formula, which would take effect from the start of the Champions Trophy, would be for a three-year period during which India and Pakistan would play at a neutral venue, Dubai.
Sources said that the PCB was still to receive a response either from the ICC or the BCCI in this regard.
