Student shot dead at Punjab University campus in Lahore

A student of Gender Studies in Punjab University has allegedly been shot dead on the premises of the university by unidentified persons on Thursday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to report, Ammar died after being hit by three bullets as the incident of firing took place at the canteen on the hostel side.
Islami Jamiat students protested against the incident at outside of Vice Chancellor office demanding for protection of students.
On the other hand, denying incident of firing, spokesperson of Punjab University said that no such incident has been reported at Punjab University yet.
University spokesperson said that a group of students wanted to achieve nefarious objectives by spreading false news.
University security officials has visited the said location and conducted a preliminary investigation and they reported that no shooting incident took place at the alleged location, said spokesperson.
It seems that something else is going on which is being investigated, spokesperson added.
However, Islami Jamiat student workers have blocked the campus bridge for traffic.
