ECP refrain government from privatising PIA

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has refrained the federal government from privatising the Pakistan International Airline (PIA) and sought tge record related to the privatization of the national airline.
The election commission secretary has issued a letter to the his Cabinet Division counterpart, stating the commission has ‘directed that you be requested to provide all relevant documents prepared for approval of the Cabinet containing comprehensive privatization programme in relation to privatization of PIA to this Commission for review’.
“The election commission has further directed that the caretaker government should refrain from taking any further steps including signing of an agreement in this regard still a decision is made by this commission, “ it added.
