Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that any conspiracy to delay local government elections will not be allowed to succeed, adding JI members will be gathering at the Press Club at 4 pm, and will march towards Chief Minister's House to record their peaceful protest, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing a press conference at Idara Noor-i-Haq on Thursday, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said: “Taking a heavy mandate from Karachi and supporting a fake census and declaring the same census fake again at the time of local government elections is equal to depriving the citizens of their rights.”

While criticizing the MQM, he said that the Muttahida did nothing for the people of Karachi and failed to deliver.

“There is no let-up in street crimes in the city. Above all, there is corruption in police department and everyone is aware that the performance would improve automatically if the police recruitment decision were made on the basis of merit,” he said.
