Cabinet approves NAB Amendment Bill

The Federal Cabinet approved the draft of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Third Amendment Bill on Tuesday.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Section 16 of the NAB Act has been amended in the approved draft of the bill.
The sources said that as per the approved bill, NAB will not be authorized to investigate corruption cases of less than Rs500 million.
While the president's authority to appoint judges of the accountability court has been revoked through the new amendment bill.
As well as, the term of office of the NAB Prosecutor General can be extended for three years under the new laws of the bureau.
